Sagraitalia with Slow food Norwich are holding an olive oil workshop at the Farm London on Wenesday 7th September with a tasting and talk by Andrea Tomasetti from Frantoio Montedoro in Senigallia, Italy.
Farm London is kindly hosting the event which will also include a tasting of some of the wonderful Le Marche red wines to accompany the olive oil and small selection of Farm snacks.
The community based FARM project in Dalston, north London was launched in 2010 to bring farming into the city of London, to help inspire city dwellers to grow their own food and create links with farms in the countryside with similar communities in cities.
 



Later that evening there will be a talk by Dermott about the Libera Terra organisation in Italy which farms land and estates confiscated off the Mafia by the Italian government. Libera Terra is a community based group and they farm and look after properties and land for socially beneficial uses, in the thirteen years since the scheme was founded over 4,500 properties and land have been confiscated and then returned to their local communities.
Libera Terra produce organic pasta, olive oil marmalades and many other products as well as wonderful wines all made in southern Italy and Sicily.
