Italian Sagra in North Norfolk
October 10, 2011
Sagraitalia was involved in organising an Italian Sagra evening at Creake Abbey Barns in north west Norfolk last Friday night and it proved to be a popular event with nearly 80 guests present that evening.
A Sagra is an Italian food and drink event normally based around one type of food or drink and normally each village and town has a different food theme, such as a particular type of food or drink, lamb, pork, mussels, beer etc.

Anna Mosesson the well known chef who now lives mainly in Italy prepared a wonderful meal for the guests along with Lin Murray of the Norfolk Deli company. Guests were treated to anti pasti, pasta, wild boar with juniper berries and a dessert of Autumn fruits with cream.
The wines for the evening were provided by Stefano Milani of Selzione Zanotto in London, Dermott Sales from Sagraitalia and Olivaverde provided the olive oils, pasta and cheese.
Guests were talked through the preparation of the different courses of food and also entertained by Anna who managed to sing part of an Italian Aria. Stefano and Dermott gave short talks about the wines and olive oils that were featured that evening and Dermott also spoke about Slow Food Norwich which was also closely involved.

Dermott , Anna and Stefano are all closely involved with the wish by Sagraitalia to promote good real Italian food events in London and the east of England.
Several more Sagre are already being planned in London, Norfolk, Buckinghmashire and Cambridge for the rest of 2011 and also for the early part of 2012 and Sagraitalia will be closely involved with the the promotion of organic and biodynamic wines from the lesser known Italian regions.
